Blessed Carlo Acutis Catholic School (BCACS) is a large multi campus school with around 1200 learners across 4 sites, situated in Merthyr Tydfil. The school was established on the 1st September 2022 amalgamating the three Merthyr Catholic Primary Schools – St Aloysius, St Illtyd’s and St Mary’s, with the Catholic Secondary school Bishop Hedley. The school has around 120 staff across the 4 campuses. The secondary phase still takes learners from across the Heads of the Valleys at 11 years of age, having a catchment area that spans four local authorities.
We are seeking to appoint a part time ‘School Clerk’ to the St. Aloysius Campus within Blessed Carlo Acutis School. The role would include working 5 mornings a week from 8.45-11.45 or 8.30-12.30 equating to 15 or 20 hours per week. We are looking for someone who can support us in creating an environment where everyone feels safe, valued and loved in a place where we inspire everyone to succeed. Where we are rooted in faith bringing our families together and looking to the future.

Job Purpose
To assist in tackling underachievement by working in partnership with families, parents, carers and pupils in a school context.
To enable pupils, particularly the most disadvantaged, to have full access to educational opportunities and to overcome barriers to learning and participation. This includes monitoring attendance and punctuality and taking necessary steps to improve this.
Encourage community and parent involvement in school.
The School Clerk will focus their work on preventative and early intervention activities. They will work with pupils and families where presenting needs are below the thresholds that trigger the involvement of statutory services. The coordination of services will be a key focus developing an integrated model with partners with school as the central point.
