1. Individual Counselling or Group Counselling
– Conduct one-on-one or group counselling sessions with clients to assess their skills, interests, and career aspirations.
– Evaluate clients’ educational backgrounds, work experiences, and personal circumstances to identify potential career paths.
– Assist clients in setting realistic career goals and developing action plans to achieve them.
2. Research and Information:
– Stay updated on current labour market trends, job opportunities, and educational programs.
– Provide clients with accurate and up-to-date information on career options, industry-specific requirements, and job search strategies.
3. Education and Training Options:
– Recommend appropriate educational and training programs, courses, or certifications that align with clients’ career goals.
– Facilitate connections with educational institutions and training providers.
4. Record Keeping and Reporting:
– Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.
– Prepare reports on counselling activities and outcomes as required.
5. Professional Development:
– Stay informed about developments in career counselling and related fields through continuous learning and training.
Qualifications:
– A bachelor’s or master’s degree in counselling, psychology
– Relevant certifications in career counselling or career development (e.g., National Certified Counselor, Certified Career Counselor) may be preferred.
– Previous experience in career counselling or related roles is a plus.
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
– Empathetic, patient, and non-judgmental attitude.
– Proficiency in using career assessment tools and counselling software.
– Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
– Flexibility and adaptability in working with diverse client populations.
