Brief Role
- Assist in providing nutritional and dietary advice to Inpatients with complex needs by assessing their nutritional requirements and advising on the most appropriate
therapeutic diets and intervention.
- Provide nutritional advice to individuals who visit the hospital as Out patient’s cross-referrals, Health check, pediatric clinic, Heart check, sports medicine package, etc.
- Select type and amount of food for therapeutic diets based on indicated physiological and psychological needs of patients; integrates patients needs with basic institutional menus and patient food preferences; indicates the mode of feeding for patients; prepares home diet plans for outpatients and inpatients
- Prepare and explain materials and publications which are given to the patient in support of nutrition care plan; Develop protocols and interprets and utilizes current research related
to nutrition care
- Participate in in-service training programs, demonstrate and explain topics of nutrition to physicians, interns, and nursing staff; on the job training in medical nutrition therapy to
dietetic interns and nursing students.
- Ensure liaising with the F & B department and the caterer to assist them in planning, controlling, and evaluating food service, establishes standards of sanitation, safety, and hygiene of the kitchen and food assembly area, conducts studies to improve the operations, efficiency, and quality of foodservice systems.
- Work closely with vendor dieticians/support services to ensure the patient receives the correct diet and patient satisfaction.
- Assist in analyzing the patient feedback and taking corrective action and coordinating with food and beverages and caterers in resolving issues.
