Job description:
Location : MumbaiRoleOverall responsibility for all curriculum matters, developing holistic and thematic approaches to learning that meet the needs of adolescence. Will be responsible for upgrading, innovating, designing and developing content, curriculum and processes on life skills, Employability Education and academic skills for adolescents, and classroom process skills for in-service teachers including technology-based interventions.Reporting to Director – Programme DevelopmentKey Responsibilities· Conceptualize and develop age-appropriate and need-specific content using activity-based learning.· Liaison with research, trainers and program managers to regularly update, customize and revise existing content.· Overseeing curricula and facilitation standards with curriculum team .· Review and edit curricula and other content documents once written and designed by curricula writers, ready for publication and dissemination.· Coordinate instructional materials, and finalise for deploying the content· Ensure high quality and cost-effective translations of all the curricula materials in Life skills and academics· Ensure user-friendly books/manuals on all areas of content/curriculum.· Collaborate with partners to develop content for the remedial learning programs for upper-primary, secondary and higher secondary school students, as required.· Create and monitor the teacher interaction plan.· Assess the curriculum’s overall effectiveness with participants· Use technology for tracking program delivery, assessing learning levels and training the implementation teams.· Train the program implementation teams on program delivery and work with the teams for regular support.· Respond to the queries from field team in a collaborative and cooperative manner.· Manage various vendors for outsourcing content writing and translations work.· Ensure high standards of instruction by curriculum teamDesired Competencies:· Excellent content designing / writing skills.· Knowledge & experience in curriculum and content development· Understand basic behavioural change theory, child psychology, pedagogy and andragogy.· Knowledge of conceptualizing and developing curriculum in the domain of Education, Gender, Health, Life Skills, Leadership and Livelihood is desired.· Experience in teacher training content development and training· Familiar with social issues like child rights, gender discrimination, education, among others· Ability to conduct independent study or research for design and re-designing the programme.· Evidence of leading/developing a team· Evidence of leading learning and curriculumsAdditional requirements:· Dealing with External Bodies, like Government, Academia, Corporate, Research Bodies etc.· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and one of the Indian Language· Proficiency in computer usage
