Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development and Planning: Develop and update the English curriculum based on educational standards and requirements.
Design lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with the curriculum.
Incorporate a variety of literary genres, texts, and media to promote reading, writing, and critical analysis skills.

Classroom Instruction: Deliver well-structured and engaging lessons that enhance students’ language skills and understanding of literary works.
Facilitate class discussions, debates, and activities to promote critical thinking and analysis of literature.
Teach and reinforce proper grammar, vocabulary, and writing techniques.

Reading and Literacy Promotion: Encourage and promote a love for reading among students by providing diverse reading materials and literary experiences.
Guide students in analyzing and interpreting various literary texts, including novels, poems, plays, and short stories.
Foster reading comprehension, literary analysis, and appreciation for different literary styles and periods.

Writing and Communication Skills Development: Teach and enhance students’ writing skills, including essay composition, creative writing, and research papers.
Provide guidance and feedback on students’ written work to improve their grammar, style, and overall writing proficiency.
Facilitate activities that develop students’ oral communication skills, such as presentations, debates, and public speaking.

Student Assessment and Evaluation: Administer and evaluate student assessments, including tests, quizzes, essays, projects, and presentations.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their academic progress and areas for improvement.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.

Individualized Support and Guidance: Identify and address the unique learning needs and interests of individual students.
Provide additional support or tutoring to students who require extra help in language skills or literary analysis.
Offer guidance and counseling on college applications, scholarship opportunities, and career pathways related to English studies.

Classroom Management: Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes mutual respect and active student participation.
Set clear expectations and behavioral standards, and enforce discipline when necessary.
Foster a collaborative learning environment that encourages teamwork, critical thinking, and effective communication.

Professional Development and Collaboration: Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with current trends, methodologies, and advancements in English education.
Collaborate with other English teachers and faculty members to share best practices and resources.
Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and school improvement initiatives.

Parent Communication and Engagement: Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians regarding students’ progress and academic performance.
Conduct parent-teacher conferences and respond to parental inquiries or concerns in a timely manner.
Provide support and guidance to parents on how they can support their child’s learning in English.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Master’s degree in English, English Literature, or a related field
• Teaching certification or relevant teaching qualifications.
• Experience teaching English language and literature to senior college students.
• Strong knowledge of language arts, literary works, and writing techniques.
• Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, vocabulary, and written expression.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create an engaging and interactive learning environment.
• Strong organizational and classroom management

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: ₹30,000.00 – ₹40,000.00 per month
