Job Title: IT Solutions Apprenticeship Tutor
Job Description:
As an IT Solutions Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training in IT Solutions to adult learners. Your role involves teaching both theoretical and practical aspects of IT, ranging from hardware infrastructure, such as servers and networks, to software development, including operating systems and applications. You will guide learners through the complexities of modern IT environments, including DevOps methodologies and IT solution lifecycle management.
Essential Qualifications:
1. Minimum L4 in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or occupational competence
2. A recognised teaching qualification appropriate for adult education, such as a L3 PTLLS, CertEd or equivalent.
3. At least 3 years of professional experience in IT, preferably in areas like DevOps, system administration, network management, or software development.
4. Proficiency in various IT methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps.
5. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Minimum L4 in a relevant field.
2. Additional certifications in IT domains (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft).
3. Experience in teaching or mentoring roles.
4. Knowledge of current trends in IT, like IoT, AI, and cloud computing.
Competencies:
1. Technical Expertise: Demonstrable expertise in IT solution development, implementation, and maintenance. Familiarity with both hardware and software components.
2. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse and interpret complex IT requirements and problems. Capable of offering logical and creative solutions.
3. Communication: Strong ability to communicate complex IT concepts to learners with varying levels of IT knowledge.
4. Adaptability: Capable of adjusting teaching methods to suit different learning styles and staying updated with the latest IT trends and teaching methodologies.
5. Professionalism: Maintains a high standard of professional ethics, confidentiality, and integrity. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
2. Develop and maintain course materials, including syllabi, lectures, and practical exercises.
3. Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
4. Stay updated with developments in both the field of IT and teaching methodologies.
5. Participate in departmental and school meetings, and teacher training workshops.
Additional Requirements:
– Apprentices without level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve these prior to the end point assessment.
– Registration with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, would be advantageous.
