We are hiring PYP Teacher & PYP Coordinator for a IB school at Tiruchirapalli (Trichy) with relevant experience
Job Description
Design, prepare and deliver high quality lessons to suit the individual needs of all students in line with the PYP
- Inspire mixed culture and ability classes, by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students
- Assess and monitor student progress and provide targets so that all learners can see success and improve
- Collaborate with other teachers to share new ideas, approaches and professional knowledge
- Communicate accurately and regularly with parents Liaise with the Head of Primary School and PYP Coordinator to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroom
- Contribute to the extra-curricular activities programme and participate in school activities such as assemblies, evening events, conferences Maintain constant awareness of the needs of any children to whom English is another language

IB PYP COORDINATOR
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assume responsibility for the implementation and development of the PYP and MYP curriculum within the spirit of the schools mission statement
- Ensuring that all IBO databases about the school is up to date and deadlines and procedures from IBO are met.
- Serve as a member of the schools Leadership Team helping to develop the strategic plan, leading the accreditation and review processes
- Initiate professional training programs that will enable the teaching staff to successfully introduce and develop the IB programs in their classroom successfully; the trainings will include professional learning communities, inter-disciplinary unit development, and current pedagogy and assessment practices
- Provide instructional leadership to individual teachers through mentoring, peer support, goal evaluations, and team-teaching opportunities Collaborate with PYP, MYP, and DP coordinators within the district to ensure a successful IB program continuum
- Facilitate budgetary requests for trainings and curricular materials to the Principal Collaboratively review and revise policies that are aligned with the values of IPS and the IB; such policies will include language, assessment, inclusion, and academic honesty
- Oversee student welfare by assisting students in the selection of courses within the MYP, address academic honesty concerns, assist with high school guidance, and implement student support systems
- Ensure MYP requirements are met by developing interdisciplinary units, syllabus outlines, scope and sequence (pacing) documentation, community project frameworks, assessment documentation
- Ensure PYP requirements are met by developing transdisciplinary units, POI revisions, scope and sequence (pacing) documentation, assessment documentation, Exhibition guidelines
- Attend parent, grade level and program meetings, host informational sessions, attend and lead job-a-likes, and visit partnering schools and businesses
- Evaluate and support MYP Advisory classes in conjunction with the social worker and partner school coordinators to ensure suitable, sustainable development opportunities for students
- Assist in scheduling processes and timetabling
- Assist in recruiting and retaining of students by attending recruitment fairs and conducting open presentations and tours
- Implement and apply educational technology software and hardware including student resources, online grading within ManageBac, asynchronous learning platforms, laptops and production focused software
- Communicate with all shareholders (students, parents, teachers, administrators, district personnel) regarding IB procedures, requirements and policies, events and opportunities, and current progress of the programs via meetings, letters, blogging, submission of articles to school newsletters, and additional publications
- Lead the IB accreditation and review processes; provide leadership and guidance during the planning and development for site visits
- Facilitate presentations, productions, events and/or activities as appropriate that showcase student learning and achievement (specific expectations to be detailed during the interview process) Additional duties as assigned by the Principal
THE LIKELY CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE BELOW SKILLS & CHARACTERISTICS
- IB PYP trained and experience in teaching IB
- – Good command of written & spoken English
- – Sound Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel/Google Sheets & Document
- – Good communication and analytical skills
