Who are we looking for:

We are looking for a Head Teacher Librarian who plays a vital role in working with teachers to ensure that the curriculum is supported with the relevant resources. Our ideal candidate is good at communication, identifying and selecting the resources that support the various learning styles of a variety of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with IB coordinators and subject teachers to integrate library resources into the IB Units of Inquiry and subject-specific projects.
  • Working with teachers and students to promote the IB Learner Profile and the aims of the IB programmes.
  • Ensure the library space is conducive to inquiry-based learning, promoting collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Facilitate professional development sessions for teachers on integrating library resources and information literacy skills into the IB curriculum.
  • Support students in their PYP exhibition, and MYP personal extended essay research, emphasizing academic integrity and adherence to IB standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, encouraging continuous learning and innovation.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree at minimum and teaching qualification/appropriate certification in library sciences/English Literature.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Innovative teaching and learning experience.
  • Experience in an IB school will be an added advantage.
