We are looking for a Production, Planning and Costing Manager to manage our design, production, tailoring and fulfilment requirements. In a prospective production manager with who is fully qualified, we look for attitude – an execution-first professional with a learner’s mindset.
We love open and direct feedback at the same time we know that complaining does not take us anywhere.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Sample development stage
- Work closely with the designer and founder to understand the designer requirements and oversee pattern making and grading
- Garment FIT checking and correction of patterns,
- Incorporate design comments on samples and sign off on the sample, and finalise the tech pack
- Take care of product design and make it production friendly before handing it over to production unit
Production stage
- Build, negotiate production costs, and then oversee the production planning and control processes. By ensuring timely and cost-effective production schedules by working with multiple vendors that would deliver women’s, men’s ready-to-wear garments efficiently. This translates to quality, turn-around-time and cost
- Coordinate closely with the available suppliers (at the same time build more suppliers) to that’d result in an asset-light inventory model. This translates to managing inventory, procurement, a robust/ agile supply chain to meet production targets
- Implement and oversee the use of project planning and use the mini ERP tools to streamline production, operations and enhance efficiency – quality, turn-around-time and cost
- Ensure the adherence to quality standards for all handwoven fabrics and finished products. The manager will be the first person responsible for quality standards of the garment
- Address and resolve any production issues as per the agreement, by working closely with the design and maintain Quality Check records to ensure product specifications are met
- Manage payment cycles and negotiate better terms of agreement
- Give a dashboard to CEO of the production pipeline and capacity – thrice a week
Preferred qualifications:
- 4-6years of experience in production planning and control, preferably in the fashion industry (European, Japanese market)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Fashion Management, or a related field
- Strong understanding of handwoven textiles, with an appreciation for artisanal craftsmanship
- Experience handling production in an artisanal fashion house
- Proficiency in project planning tools and experience with ERP systems
- Take responsibility – the buck stops with you, at the same time have a learner’s mindset, take feedback and stand the ground when you know what’s the right thing to do
- Travel and surprise visits to the production houses/ export units to make sure the brand’s quality high standards are maintained and established
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a start-up environment, we are an all-women team
Job Type: Full-time , at studio in Hyderabad
Salary: ₹ 40,000.00 – 50,000 per month
Education: Undergraduate degree required (fashion is preferred)
Experience: 3-5 years in a luxury fashion production unit that has a well-defined and rigorous process for quality checks and customer experience
