About Kriti:

Kriti Social Initiatives is a not for profit organization working in the slums in Hyderabad on the twin issues of promoting education for children and empowerment of women through training and livelihoods since 2009.By working in the areas of economic empowerment of women and education of children, Kriti works towards the larger vision of eliminating urban poverty.

About the Project:

Project Kaushal is to provide computer training to school going children and young adults living in old city (Talabkatta) in Hyderabad.

• The center is open for all who are above 10 years of age. The children could be studying in government schools or private schools.
• The center will be open from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm every day. Fridays will be the weekly off for the center.
• Several courses are held throughout the year ranging from 2-4 months. Accelerated courses are held over weekends and during summers.
• The center is equipped with 13 Windows OS based desktop computers that can each accommodate a maximum of 2 students per computer and 8 Raspberry Pi kits that can accommodate 3 children per kit.
• Each class has a maximum limit of 24 students (Covid regulations have reduced class sizes further), ensuring adequate computer time and focused attention from the instructor.
• There will be separate batches for boys and girls

• Courses offered at Kaushal Center:

Computer Basics Including Typing, Internet usage, E-mail etc

Programming courses are being conducted in Scratch.

Website creation and programming using HTML and CSS.

Job skill readiness courses on Word, Excel etc.

The Profile:

We are searching for an enthusiastic computer teacher to promote computer literacy among our students and Job seeking adults.Computer teachers should also ensure that equipment remains in excellent working condition.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Working in Kaushal Computer Lab,setup in the premises of Talabkatta,old city hyderabad
• Tentative working timings 11am to 7 pm six days a week.
• Should have knowledge of computer operation and networking
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safeguarding assets in the lab- computer, furniture,peripherals,resources,projector etc.

• Able to resolve technical issues in the lab and in case of major problems , able to get the issue resolved by an external technical expert after informing the management.
• Actively assist in building curriculum for the various courses.
• Conduct classroom training sessions as per the training content provided
• Maintain batch wise student data, attendance records of students and assessment records that will be shared with the education coordinator every week.
• Conduct and compile test results and share with the education coordinator every month.
• Conduct soft skills training classes for the students based on training and content provided by Kriti management
• Ensure regular attendance by students and mobilization of students at the start of the course.

Our Requirements:

• degree in computer science or related discipline.
• Prior experience as a computer teacher.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Urdu
• written and administrative skills.
• Nurturing, adaptable approach to instructing.
• Passionate about fostering computer literacy and academic excellence.

Salary offered: 18,000 – 25,000 per month depending on experience
