Job Description Position Description: The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for leading the department to reach enrollment goals. The Coordinator designs the recruitment strategies, oversees the application and selection processes; and manages budget and resources. The Admissions Coordinator is part of the financial aid committee, and is responsible for scholarship and student exchange recipients. The position reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and works closely with faculty and the departments of Learning, Student Life and Marketing & Strategic Communications. Preferred Academic Qualifications: Graduate of a recognized university, postgraduate qualification desirable Competency in computer use; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and database management Professional Experience: Minimum three years of full-time admissions experience. Capacity to identify strongly and unambiguously with the mission, goals and objectives of KIS. Professional Skills: Ability to communicate fluently and effectively in English (oral and written) Possess high-level organizational and planning skills, including effective management of electronic and paper files Deadline oriented with ability to make sound and informed decisions Possess excellent interpersonal skills, be detail oriented, and have complex problem solving ability Experience in sales & marketing, educational administration in more than one type of school system e.g. Indian, British, American, international Proven ability to work effectively with people from all cultures and backgrounds Ability to work independently as well as in a team Have knowledge of the process and requirements of admissions appropriate for an international boarding school Responsibilities: Support KIS guiding principles Meet and relate well with a wide range of prospective parents and their children, respond to and follow up initial admission and scholarship enquiries, provide campus tour for visiting prospective parents/students Schedule admissions tests and interviews for visiting applicants or those required to take tests by the admissions committee Initiate and maintain correspondence and application files related to student recruitment and applications for admission and for scholarships, seek out priority scholarship recipients through church related contacts Assemble and process all admission and scholarship materials necessary for informed consideration by the admissions and scholarship committee, input data to electronic admissions summary sheet that can be assessed by members of the admissions committee Promotes the school and attracts new students by maintaining working relationships with other departments; working closely with the alumni office and the publications department Interpret records coming from a wide range of educational systems, including primarily the Indian, British and American type Liaise with individuals (primarily parents) and organizations (businesses, international organizations, UN and UN related groups, embassies, mission societies) in spreading information about the school as widely as possible Establish open communication with parents and newly accepted students to facilitate successful adjustment on arrival Be familiar in all aspects of the operation of this educational institution to be able to answer any questions that prospective parents might have Prepare class, dorm lists in consultation with the Dean at the beginning of each semester placing new students into appropriate dorms, organize the procedure for new students to enter school and dorm Design and revise admission and scholarship forms as necessary Determine the best advertising media and prepare appropriate material with the Chief Marketing Officer Devise, formulate or revise publicity materials in consultation with the Chief Marketing Officer and arrange for their use in prime locations Determine sources of potential and prospective students Provide statistics on enrollment and scholarships to the Chief Marketing Officer, Administration and Council, evaluate data to predict trends and to provide basis for future school development and budget planning Provide Finance Office with necessary information on new students and scholarship recipients Act as the first point of notification of withdrawal and to inform the other administrative offices of these withdrawals Initiate bills for early departure and late arrival fees as well as late notification of withdrawal charges Maintain pre-school files until students enter Grade 1 Plan recruitment trips to various centers in India and overseas, coordinate with parents in these places along with the Chief Marketing Officer and Principal. Maintain updated information in various school directories published in the United States, Europe and elsewhere Annually plan the budget for the admissions and student recruitment account Provide information on the curriculum of the school and its hybrid nature, especially related to the IB and the American standardized examinations (SAT, ACT, TOEFL) Plan and execute the New Student Orientation program each semester, working with the Chief Marketing Officer and the Principal Prepare reports to the council for the annual meeting Have an understanding of the Project Design and its implications for admissions and scholarships and be able to effectively communicate trends in these areas to the administration and to the Council Maintain clear and open channels of communication with the Chief Marketing Officer Other duties as assigned by the administration.
