Kathak Artpreneur-in-Residence – Teaching, Creative Production & Academy Operations
A one-year immersive opportunity for a young Kathak artist who wants to learn how to teach, create, manage, record, promote, and build a serious arts academy of their own.

If you have wondered what it takes to run a serious arts academy. How a production comes together. How students are held and guided over years. How a school finds its voice. How something is built from very little, with intention and care. If you don’t yet have answers, but you are curious enough to show up and find out — come.
We will not pretend the work is only glamorous. It includes routine, coordination, and administration — because that is what building anything actually requires. But it also includes performance, production, creative conversations, and the quiet satisfaction of watching something you helped build take shape.

ABOUT BHAVARTH: Bhavarth Kathak Arts Space is a Kathak-centred performing arts academy in Nanded, Maharashtra — built around a simple but serious belief: Kathak is not only a performance art. It is a way of living with discipline, expression, cultural rootedness, and awareness.
We teach offline in Nanded and online for students across India and abroad. We also create productions, workshops, recorded learning content, and structured learning experiences that treat the art — and the student — with thoughtfulness and care. We are young, growing, and building something we deeply believe in.
ABOUT THE ROLE: The Kathak Artpreneur-in-Residence is a one-year full-time opportunity for a young Kathak artist who wants hands-on exposure to teaching, creative production, course creation, coordination, content, and academy-building.
This is not only an assistant teacher role or an admin role; the fellow will work closely with the founder-teacher across the following areas:
- Kathak Teaching: Assist in offline and online Kathak classes, support beginner/junior students, help with revision and corrections, and take selected sessions when ready.
- Quarterly Workshops and Artistic Events: Support the ideation, planning, coordination, documentation, and execution of thoughtful workshops and artistic events through the year.
- Annual Production: Participate in creative discussions, contribute ideas, support rehearsals, coordination, documentation, backstage work, and perform.
- Recorded Course Support: Assist in planning, shooting, organising, tracking, and uploading recorded/self-paced Kathak course content.
- Online and Offline Class Coordination: Support class schedules, reminders, online links, student access, missed-class follow-ups, and smooth class functioning.
- LMS and Academy Administration: Maintain attendance, student records, LMS uploads, Google Sheets, parent/student communication, onboarding, certificates, and basic documentation.
- Social Media and Content Support: Organise photos/videos, support uploads, captions, content ideas, and documentation of classes, workshops, productions, and student journeys.
- Any Other Work: As a growing academy, Bhavarth may need support across areas that don’t fit neatly into the above. The Artpreneur-in-Residence should be open to stepping in wherever needed — whether that is helping set up for a performance, supporting a parent interaction, or coordinating something new for the first time.
