Full Job Description
This position is based in India (preferred New Delhi and the northern region) and may provide services in other Central and South Asian markets as assigned. This position independently ensures that university enrolment goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with priorities, timelines, funding limitations or other specifications.
Essential Duties:
Represents Arizona State University Admission Services in India with the primary purpose of the recruitment and matriculations of Master’s degree students.
Collaborates and works with fellow admissions counsellors, supervisor, and enrolment management leadership to achieve university enrolment objectives for International freshmen, transfer and graduate students.
Maintains student records in database; preparing, monitoring, and providing reports; acts as a contact point for prospective student information and as a local hub to Admission Services for academic records.
Plans and executes a territory recruitment plan for prospective students, families and college contacts including but not limited to: visiting colleges and universities, representing ASU at college fairs, presenting at events, and other programming in India (significant in-country and occasional out-of-country overnight travel required); with the goal of achieving assigned new student enrolment objectives. Provides assistance with various student visit programs and events including on and off campus functions.
When needed, helps planning and organizing visits and events for ASU staff and leadership visiting India.
Ensures coordination of scheduling to maximize student service to meet university enrolment goals.
Initiates and develops recruitment relationships with prospective students and families through regular phone calls, emails, mail and in person interactions.
Counsels and confers with students interpreting and providing program procedures, policies, goals and objectives.
Provides assistance, advice and service to prospective students to ensure seamless transition to university.
Initiates and develops recruitment relationships with high school contacts and partners through regular communication via phone, email, mail and face to face interactions.
Develops a working knowledge of ASU locations, programs, benefits, policies and practices; in order to effectively represent the broad range of university opportunities and offerings.
Work with various ASU departments and offices to coordinate an effective diversity of recruitment presence in the area.
Monitors recruitment and enrolment trends from assigned territory. Reports and makes recommendations to adjust strategies to reach assigned enrolment goals.
Maintains and manages territory and student information in a CRM and student information system.
Participate in higher education professional organizations and development in the region.
Maintain a regular recruitment presence in India communicating and visiting schools, related agencies and students throughout the country according to planning and business needs.
As needed, travel to Arizona up to two times a year for events, trainings and development opportunities at ASU campuses/locations.
Attend and participate in recruitment events and meetings as designated by the supervisor, which may include weekend, late evening, or early morning responsibilities.
Work with transfer, international and graduate admissions staff to ensure synergies within ASU Admission Services.
Create, plan, promote and schedule counsellor tours to ASU’s campuses/locations.
Participates in other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to develop and conduct group presentations targeted to diverse audiences.
Knowledge of higher education admission and recruitment practices, principles, trends and strategies.
Ability to produce reports, analyse and evaluate recruitment activities and territory trends.
Knowledge of basic project management and organizational practices.
Knowledge of functionality of the Google Suite, CRM programs and higher education student information systems.
Skill in independently performing, organizing, and prioritizing work activities.
Skill in both verbal and written communication through principles, practices, methods and techniques of customer service while remaining professional and concise verbally and in writing.
Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse audience.
Working Environment:
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions. Frequent travel, involving operation of a motor vehicle; Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals; This position receives regular review of objectives. Occasional evenings and weekends are expected.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications:
University level education from an accredited international or U.S. institution, preferably at ASU
Experience with student recruitment and admission practices.
Results orientated, ambitious and highly motivated.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of audiences.
Strong organisational, planning and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure, to deadline and within budget, to meet challenging targets.
Strong attention to detail
Willing to travel independently and to work irregular hours when required.

Experience using CRM such as Salesforce and programs in The Google Suite
