• Curriculum Implementation: Design and deliver a challenging and inquiry-based English language and literature curriculum that aligns with the MYP framework, focusing on the development of language skills, literary analysis, and critical thinking.
• Assessment: Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student learning and provide timely and constructive feedback.
• Differentiated Instruction: Implement strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with varying language proficiency levels and learning styles.
• Inquiry-Based Learning: Foster a culture of inquiry and research, encouraging students to explore topics in depth and develop a deep understanding of English language and literature.
• Interdisciplinary Teaching: Collaborate with other MYP subject teachers to create interdisciplinary learning experiences and projects that integrate English into broader educational contexts.
• Global Perspective: Infuse global perspectives and multicultural literature into the curriculum to promote international-mindedness and a broader understanding of the world.
• Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in IB education, attend relevant workshops and conferences, and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Experience teaching English at the middle school level, preferably within an IB MYP context.
• Familiarity with the IB MYP framework and assessment practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
