Job Description
Job Summary:
The Textile Curriculum Planner will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum for textile programs, including coursework, materials, and instructional resources. The incumbent will be expected to design a curriculum that meets the needs of students and educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research industry trends, educational standards, and best practices in textile education to inform curriculum development
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for textile programs, including course descriptions, learning objectives, instructional materials, and assessment methods
- Collaborate with faculty members to ensure that the curriculum meets the needs of students and aligns with program goals
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and make adjustments as necessary to improve student learning outcomes
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners to ensure that the curriculum reflects current industry practices and trends
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the textile industry to ensure that the curriculum remains relevant and innovative
- Collaborate with other curriculum planners across disciplines to ensure that the textile program is integrated with other programs and disciplines where appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Design, or a related field
- A Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field is preferred
- Experience with curriculum development and implementation
- Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
The Textile Curriculum Planner will work primarily in an office environment but may also be required to visit schools. The position may require occasional travel.
