The Physics Professor will play a critical role for achieve its vision and mission by providing high-quality education in the field of physics. This individual will be responsible for designing and delivering courses, conducting research, and mentoring students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong commitment to promoting academic excellence.
Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Physics or a related field from a recognized university.
A minimum of 5 years of experience teaching at the university level.
Strong research and publication record in relevant areas of physics.
Excellent teaching skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to students.
Commitment to student mentorship and a passion for promoting academic excellence.
Responsibilities:
Developing and delivering high-quality physics courses, including lecture and laboratory components, to undergraduate and graduate students.
Conducting research in the field of physics and publishing findings in academic journals and at conferences.
Mentoring students and guiding them in their academic and research pursuits.
Participating in departmental and college-wide committees and initiatives.
Collaborating with other faculty members and institutions on interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
Participating in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
Advising students on academic and career matters, including course selection and preparation for graduate school.
Securing external funding for research projects, including grant proposals and contracts.
Engaging in professional development activities to maintain expertise in the field of physics.
Representing the department and college at local, national, and international conferences and events.
Maintaining laboratory facilities, including the procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Assessing and evaluating student learning outcomes, and using this information to improve courses and teaching methods.
Building and maintaining relationships with alumni, industry partners, and other stakeholders to support the department’s mission and goals.
