Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Deliver and maintain the IB English Language and Literature Curriculum.
- Create engaging learning experiences and monitor student progress using effective assessment techniques.
- Model and uphold the School Desired Learning Outcomes and Guiding Principles.
- Teach online and/or in a hybrid context as needed.
- Plan and deliver engaging well-structured lessons.
- Develop students’ High-Performance Learning skills.
- Create a stimulating classroom environment.
- Inspire and motivate students, setting high standards.
- Creative teaching methods and use of technology.
- Develop, update, and maintain unit plans and related documents.
- Contribute positively to departmental tasks and policies, including common assessments and instructional practices.
- Foster student-centered learning, critical thinking, and creativity.
- Engage students in their learning and review progress against targets.
- Provide pastoral support for student advisees and liaise between home, dorms, and school.
- Differentiate instruction based on students’ ability levels.
- Set, evaluate and provide feedback on appropriate tasks according to the academic timetable.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and report to stakeholders.
- Support IB Core requirements: MYP Personal Project, DP Extended Essay, DP CAS, and Theory of Knowledge.
- Organize and lead at least one extracurricular activity.
- Chaperone student travel at semester beginnings/ends and field trips during Activity Week.
- Participate in orientation, professional development, and annual evaluations.
Preferred candidate profile
- Master’s degree in English or a related field.
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate Program and at least two years teaching MYP and IBDP.
- Valid teaching certification.
- Strong understanding of English content and proficiency with classroom technology
- Ability to work effectively in a team, cooperate with colleagues, and contribute to departmental efficiency.
- Participate in meetings, share teaching ideas, and support new initiatives.
- Engage in professional development and cross-curricular activities.
- International experience in a multicultural setting.
- Successful record in the IB Diploma Programme.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with co-teaching models and knowledge of Apps for Education.
- Proven reliability, flexibility, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
