Job Summary

Responsible for setting the academic framework in line with institutional objectives, developing and maintaining effective educational programs while

continuously promoting improvements in teaching & learning methodologies that fosters student growth and development in coordination with the Principal.

KRA 1

Academic Operations

Roles & responsibilities

  • Exhibit continuous endeavor to improve the operating effectiveness of the institution by maintaining overall supervision of teaching, event/ programs and day to day administration
  • Ensure timely conduct of examinations
  • Suggest appropriate changes in and ensure adherence to approved policies, practices and procedures by all stakeholders
  • Plan the annual budget focusing on initiatives for development of faculty, students and institution infrastructure
  • Ensure active participation for improving the quality standards of the institution by identifying quality lapses and suggest improvement measures
  • Hold regular staff meetings for the purpose of discussing educational and administrative matters
  • Other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Director
  • Ensure compliance to UGC, NAAC guidelines for (re)accreditation
  • Ensure compliance to all statutory obligations of Bengaluru North University, UGC, NAAC and other relevant bodies
  • Establish a climate in which students can develop self-discipline through guidance and counseling
  • Co-ordinate and/or direct the evaluation of student progress and achievement and the provision of regular reports to parents as required
  • Conduct classes by sharing teaching load for selected specialization subject

Roles & responsibilities

  • Design, in consultation with faculty and the academic committee/ Board of Studies, the curriculum and oversee successful curriculum implementation and teaching methods to ensure academic excellence.
  • Draft academic plan including proposed new/ updated courses focused on skilled development & employability
  • Assure the development and implementation of extra-curricular programs, and service opportunities in keeping with the Academy’s mission.
  • Coordinate with Admissions team & develop admissions strategy focused on attracting prospective students
  • Propose research targets for institution & identify research intense faculty
  • Develop a networking plan for academia – industry collaboration through projects with industry – creating platform for future placements

Roles & responsibilities

  • Supervise high-caliber faculty and staff, who are committed to the vision of the Academy.
  • Manage the schedule, attendance; leave application and performance of the faculty
  • Promote the professional and academic growth of staff through staff meetings, in-service training and personal contact
  • Responsible for the development and conduct of an orientation program for the entire new joining faculty
  • Review academic results delivered by the faculty based on defined parameters
  • Manage ongoing, fair & open interaction with faculty for building engagement, collecting & receiving feedback

Placement Initiatives

Roles & responsibilities

  • Build strong connects with corporates by inviting professionals for guest lectures creating practical learning platform for students
  • Connect with business leaders and HR heads to brief them on the college activities, students quality and learning methodologies for attracting placement opportunities
  • Leverage on industry connects to bring industry exposure by collaborating for live projects/ assignments as a part of curriculum
  • Create platform for pre-placement and campus placement opportunities
  • Oversee the conduct of FGDs and mock interviews aligned to the industry/ nature of business of recruiter during campus drives

Industry Collaborations & Research Contribution

Roles & responsibilities

  • Collaborate with industry experts for guest lectures, industry visits, internship & live project opportunities
  • Work closely with the placement officer to drive active placements and required training sessions
  • Support students in internship project preparation, skill enhancement, research and industry exposure
  • Personally supervise activities planned to churn out industry ready graduates from the institute
  • Decide on research targets for individual faculty and promote research by orienting the team on all aspects of research
  • Contribute to research by publishing research papers, case studies and securing funded project proposals
