The Education team within the Risk operations is responsible for delivering technical training and ensuring continuous learning of the staff.

.The Opportunity:

DBS (Digital business services) – The role is aligned to Risk Operation’s strategy within the Group, driving global consistency within the Education Function in Screening Operations which includes Payments Screening. It covers training pertaining to operational activities and management especially with Screening Operations.

Responsible for working with stake-holders and execute on broad based learning strategy for Screening Operations, Risk Operations, support training initiatives for tactical business and technical training solutions.

What you’ll do:

Impact on the Business/Function

  • Assist in the development & revision of content
  • Content amendment, translations (including initial work, review, signoff, rework)
  • Consistent delivery of Screening Operations (Payment Screening) training within Risk Operations technical training courseware
  • Deliver training programs aligned to the annual training calendar and to the Global Education, Risk Operations Strategy

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Provide high quality & effective training within given timeframes
  • Provide post training support by tracking class performance against learning curve targets
  • Implement remediation, upskill classes and other interventions as part of continuous improvement

Provide up to date reporting after each class facilitated

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Coach & mentor trainees ensuring readiness in delivering to the level of performance required
  • Alignment with team members, onshore & Global Education in delivery method and content
  • Actively promote self-development and the usage of the different learning channels

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Ensure employees adhere to the established operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies, especially given the regulatory implications associated with Risk operations.
  • Ensure all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring and address any areas of concern in conjunction with operations management and/or the appropriate department.
  • Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role?

  • Objectives within the specified timelines
  • 2-5 years of training and domain expertise
  • Formulate teaching outlines and determine instructional methods, such as individual training,

group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops

  • Conduct coaching sessions to enhance the communication skills and personal effectiveness of

the trainees

  • Develop strong relationships with all departments to gain knowledge of work situations and

identify the training requirement

  • Demonstrate ownership and logical approach to activities undertaken, working collaboratively with the

trainers and team managers to ensure training conducted effectively as per the schedule

  • Identify ways of improving customer service by adding value in line with strategic goals and

objectives

  • Drive and monitor delivery of all learning solutions to ensure quality and standards are maintained at all times for all target level audiences
  • Identification and prioritization of specialized content creation, delivery mode and effectiveness measures to enhance the training method

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • The role requires excellent inter personal and communication skills as the role holder is required to liaise and coordinate with Education management team, operations management and team members across multiple sites.
  • Excellent understanding of the Processes and systems and will need to be certified on the process.
  • The role requires the ability to analyze and provide learning solutions to address performance gaps
  • The job holder may report into a manager working in a different location and needs to work independently at times ensuring timely delivery of all tasks required
  • The job holder discerns and champion’s knowledge of what Education can and cannot do and draws the distinction between a training/learning need versus a need requiring other business/ support interventions.
  • The job holder needs to continuously learn to be able to keep pace with changing financial regulatory environment, legal requirements in specific countries / regions. Additionally, good knowledge of consequences of non- compliance to these regulatory / legal requirements.
