About the Organization: The Heartfulness Learning Centre The Heartfulness Learning Centre (THLC) is an indicative of Heartfulness Education Trust. Heartfulness Education enables teachers and students to live a balanced, purposeful, and a happy life using heart-based practices, so that they are equipped to contribute towards a sustainable school reform and community citizenship. THLC School is from Kindergarten to Grade 10, having more than 325 students. THLC to be affiliated to CBSE. Location: Kanha Shanti Vanam Kanha Shanti Vanam is located in the suburbs of Hyderabad close to the Bangalore highway. Magnificent in its conception and design, tranquil in its atmosphere, Kanha blends the beauty of nature with sprawling facilities being built to cater to the future of the Heartfulness movement. Thousands of trees have been planted and the entire campus is awash with a hue of green. We have a cricket stadium in the campus, humongous meditation hall, a school, a hotel, a huge dining hall for 5000 people, dormitories, a canteen and an organic farm. Roles and Responsibilities: * Supporting the school leadership in achieving the vision, mission, values and aims of the school; * To teach Social Study (Geography) to students from all abilities across Grade VI-X. * Maximizing learning opportunities both within and outside the classroom through fieldtrips, visiting speakers, varied teaching styles and resources; * To ensure that all lessons are planned and delivered with clear aims and objectives as per the curriculum requirement. * To encourage all students to be actively engaged in their own learning and in reviewing their progress. Establishing and monitoring clear homework expectations and providing meaningful feedback; * To ensure that the classroom atmosphere is positive at all times and encourage and foster intellectual curiosity. * To deal with inappropriate behaviour quickly and effectively according to the school policy. * Ensuring a positive friendly professional working environment where all staff are equally valued and are part of a team; * Being punctual and working effectively in a transparent and collaborative manner; * Keeping appropriate levels of confidentiality regarding students, staff and our community both now and in the future; * Following school administrative policies and procedures; * Undertaking a contributory role in student well‐being as either a homeroom teacher or assistant homeroom teacher; * Maintaining accurate attendance records; * Ensuring excellent lines of communication with all staff, parents and children; * Creatively displaying student work within classrooms and the shared areas of the school; * Any other Roles and responsibilities chosen by the THLC school Administration should be taken up; * To attend scheduled meetings in the Department and school, and contributing to professional meetings, collaborative planning, activities and events; Key Result Areas: * Inquire based Teaching Pedagogy * Student mentoring for a group of 10-15 students * Mentoring 04 Minor Research projects. Desired Candidate Profile: Master’s Degree in History/Geography/Economics/Political Science/Sociology or allied subjects. B.Ed. A minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in Middle/ Secondary level. Competencies: Time management, Leadership, Accountability, Commitment, Team work, Decision making, Communication.
