
Roles and Responsibilities-Head Mistress
HEAD MISTRESS is responsible for the Pre primary and Primary wing (Class PG-V).They should possess strong planning and organizational Skill and should be able to anticipate requirements and have good executional Skills. One should show empathy and work in collaboration with Coordinators and the Seniors. They are responsible to ensure the qualitative delivery of curriculum and maintenance of discipline in the wing.
The KRA of Headmistress
1. Prepare the teaching and activity time table and ensure balanced division of work among various members of the Wings.
2. Make the Substitution arrangements for staff and teachers on leave, timely ensuring effective utilization of class without any backlogs.
3. Co-ordinate with various departments for smooth functioning of the wings.
4. Conduct weekly review meetings with teachers and coordinators of preprimary and primary wing and check the planning. Maintain the minutes of meeting.
5. Guide and supervise preparation of lesson plans, and monitor the execution of the same.
6. Ensure the implementation of experiential learning in lesson plans and classroom teaching.
7. Observe classroom teaching daily and suggest measures for improvement. Check the observations done by coordinators and progress. Also ensure the feedback received from external observations are implemented
8. Validate the notes/tests /worksheets/homework planned by the teachers and its timely sharing with students.
9. Ensure the syllabus completion in stipulated time and its update on ERP.
10. Ensure the preparation of question papers, its validation and arrangement of multiple copies well in time.
11. Ensure the smooth conduction of Weekly Tests and Assessments.
12. Ensure the quality correction of answer scripts and timely update of results on ERP.
13. Ensure proper documentation of assignments, weekly assessments.
14. Supervise and guide the teachers to identify students with learning disabilities or slow learners with the help of counsellor and plan remedial measures. Check the progress of each students and the maintenance of its record.
15. Arrange and conduct meeting with parents for results, progress and disciplinary issues of students regularly. Maintain the meeting records.
16. Plan and implement co-curricular activities and class presentations for the academic session with House In-charges and coordinators.
17. Supervise the conduction of regular and special assembly ensuring that they are informative, meaningful. Assembly should be well planned, in advance.
18. Ensure the maintenance of all mandatory records such as the attendance Registers, Teachers Diary, assessment Registers, PTM Registers etc as per school policy and validating them on a regular basis.
19. Monitor proper use of the laboratories like Language labs,Maths labs,Science labs etc. in their work area.
20. Ensure the proper and effective usage of smart boards as per timetable and supervise and update the principal for any non-conformity.
21. Ensure the follow -up of repairs, replacements or requirements from the Admin and concerned department.
22. Ensure the stock maintenance and availability of various teaching aids and other miscellaneous resources for smooth conduction of day to day working.
23. Organize curriculum related extramural activities, excursions and picnics for all classes
24. Hold regular meetings with Wing staff, to discuss forthcoming activities, parental complaints, curricular and syllabus related issues.
25. Conduct or organize staff training as per the requirement.
26. Take teaching periods as per policy.
27. Report the seniors daily details and working of the wings.
28. Ensure the compliance of guidelines by Management/board and guide the teachers and students to follow the circulars.
29. Monitor the discipline and ensure the dress code of all the teachers and students.
30. Undertake any duty assigned by the Principal/Management during important days/events/functions/external examinations/marketing for welfare of school.
