Responsibilities include managing the school library, curating resources aligned with the IB curriculum, supporting information literacy programs, collaborating with teachers, and fostering a love for reading and research. The ideal candidate possesses a Master’s in Library Science, experience in an educational setting, and a passion for promoting a dynamic and enriching learning environment.QualificationEducational Background:·        A Master’s degree in Library Science or a related field is often preferred.IB Training:·        Familiarity or certification in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program is advantageous.Library Experience :·        2+ years of experience working as a librarian in an educational setting, preferably in a school library.Information Literacy Skills:·        Strong knowledge of information literacy principles and practices to support students in research and resource utilization.Digital Literacy:·        Proficiency in digital resources, online databases, and educational technologies relevant to a modern school library.Cataloguing and Organization:·        Skills in cataloguing, classifying, and organizing library materials efficiently.Communication Skills:·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, students, and staff.Tech-Savvy:·        Comfort and proficiency in using library management systems and relevant technology tools.Curriculum Alignment:·        Ability to align library resources with the school’s curriculum, especially the IB program.Promotion of Reading Culture:·        Enthusiasm for promoting a reading culture among students and fostering a love for literature.Collaboration:·        Ability to collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into lesson plans and support curriculum objectives.Multicultural Awareness:·        Cultural sensitivity and awareness to cater to the diverse needs of an IB school community.
