The Post Teacher of Science (Maternity Cover One Year Contract) We are looking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Science, must be able to teach A Level Biology or Chemistry to join the College. Science is the most popular subject at A Level in our College; with 18 groups across the entire A Level cohort, this is a fantastic opportunity to teach the Sciences to an advanced level. Behaviour in the College is outstanding and the positive relationships between student and teacher, alongside the highly motivated students means that teachers can focus on teaching their subject. The successful candidate will be leading an exceptional department which is both extremely popular and successful. Despite the non-selective nature of the school in 2022 100 PERCENT of GCSE Level Biologists gained 9-4 out of which over 77 PERCENT gained 9-8. In GCSE Chemistry 100 PERCENT of students gained 9-4, out of which over 82 PERCENT gained 9-8. In GCSE Physics 100 PERCENT gained 9-4, out of which over 90 PERCENT gained 9-8. 85 PERCENT of A Level Biologists gained A*/B out of which 54 PERCENT gained A*/A this gave the department a 1 in ALPS. In A Level Chemistry 85 PERCENT of students gained A*/B, out of which 52 PERCENT gained A*/A. In A Level Physics 84 PERCENT gained A*/B, out of which 61 PERCENT gained A*/A. The department has 11 purpose-built laboratory spaces, and phase 1 of a two-part upgrade to the facilities has just been completed. The successful applicant will be required to have the following A B.Ed. or degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent with exceptional subject knowledge.
