Reporting to the Principal, teachers deliver rigorous instruction that promotes student growth and understanding

Teachers also create curriculum and develop culture for a world-class school

Each teacher ensures that students learn in joyful, excellent classrooms

Teachers must be committed to the school vision, while possessing the beliefs, traits, and skills necessary to promote student achievement

Teachers will perform additional duties to ensure students are held to high expectations and contribute to the school community

Responsibilities of a Teacher include, but are not limited to: – Plan a program of study and unit/weekly/daily lessons that align with the school curriculum and meet student individual needs, interests, and abilities – Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and developmentally appropriate – Use instructional techniques and media consistent with best practices, content knowledge, and the needs and abilities of students – Implement the school vision, ICSE curriculum, and instructional objectives – Utilize assessment tools to identify student strengths and needs for intervention and acceleration toward academic standards – Take necessary precautions to ensure classroom and school safety – Maintain accurate records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations – Implement student conduct policies – Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside of the instructional day when required to under reasonable terms – Maintain professional relationships with colleagues – Engage in professional development opportunities – Perform other job-related duties assigned by the Principal Desired Experience – Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred – Hold valid teaching credentials and licensing – Classroom teaching experience in a rural school – Experience using data-driven instruction to achieve student growth – Leadership experience Desired Characteristics – Outstanding instructional skills including the ability to motivate and challenge students and classroom management – Ability to adjust instructional strategies to reach year-end goals – Receptive to feedback and a desire to continuously improve – Personal accountability for student achievement – Holding students to high standards and knowing they’re capable of success – A positive attitude and drive for personal and professional excellence Please submit your application materials, including a five minute video audition of your teaching, to contact @ forefrontschool.org
