Extend and optimize our data lake: improve query performance, and integrate more data sources.Build ETL pipelines for our various data-driven services for our clients.Build ETL pipelines for internal data-driven reporting for historical analysis, risk identification, projections, etc.Participate in the development and communication of data strategy and roadmaps across the technology organization to support project portfolio and business strategy

Define high-level migration plans to address the gaps between the current and future state

Lead the analysis of the technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement

Mentor team members in data principles, patterns, processes, and practices

Promote the reuse of data assets, including the management of the data catalog for reference

Ensure that our data lake architecture and data catalog/dictionary is fully documented

Help build user guides for writing efficient queries to maximally utilize the data lake

Day-to-day governance for giving access to different parts of the data lake to different users after assessing their needs in coordination with infosec.Ensure that all ETL code and configuration are properly maintained in the version control

Watch over data lake’s operating expenses and strive to reduce them

Support the data lake consumers with their day-to-day queries

Drive digital innovation by leveraging innovative new technologies and approaches to renovate, extend, and transform the existing core data assets, including SQL-based, NoSQL-based, and Cloud-based data platforms

Identify and improve parts of the platform to make it more robust and scalable.Advise Payrixu2019s leadership on key technology and product roadmap considerations

Align our technical decisions with Payrixu2019s broad strategic initiatives, while also advocating for needs specific to emerging new businesses

Teach and mentor both individual contributors and managers

Build and deliver high-quality products on time u2013 the outcome should be u201CIt Just Worksu201DWhat you will bring- 9+ years of successful and applicable hands-on experience in data development and principles including end-to-end design patterns5+ years proven track record of designing and scalable, high-quality operational or analytical data systems5+ years of experience building cost-effective and performance-driven solutions using elastic architectures

Basic understanding of network and data security architecture

Good experience in data lake architecture, governance, and implementation

Extensive experience with AWS platformAWS S3, Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, EMR, QuickSight, LambdaAWS CLI, SDK, IAMPostgres, Dynamo DBExtensive experience with open-source data technologies:Must have: Apache Spark, Hudi, Presto,Nice to have: Hive, Airflow, Iceberg, AtlasExperience with SQL and NoSQL databases on Big Data PlatformsExperience with Python and JavaScript (optional) for data engineering purposes

Experience with the development of ETL pipelines

Any experience defining evolutionary data solutions and underlying technologies
