Overview
The role of a Pre School Teacher is to create a nurturing and stimulating environment that encourages young children to explore and develop their natural abilities. Pre School Teachers play a crucial role in laying the foundation for a child’s future success by providing a safe and inclusive learning space while fostering social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans in accordance with curriculum objectives and educational best practices
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities
- Observe, evaluate, and document children’s social, emotional, and physical development
- Communicate regularly with parents to discuss children’s progress and address any concerns
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order
- Monitor and manage classroom activities to promote a safe and supportive learning environment
- Collaborate with other teachers and administrators to create a comprehensive educational program
- Use various teaching methods to engage children’s interest and understanding
- Supervise children in the classroom, on the playground, and during field trips
- Assess and record children’s progress and prepare reports for parents
- Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current in the field
- Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and conducive to learning
- Model appropriate behaviors and encourage positive social interactions
- Attend staff meetings and parent-teacher conferences as required
- Embrace diversity and promote inclusivity in the classroom
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
- State certification or licensure for teaching early childhood education
- Proven experience working with young children in a teaching or childcare setting
- Knowledge of child development and early childhood education principles
- Familiarity with educational tools, such as interactive whiteboards and learning management systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children and parents
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with young children
- Ability to maintain a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Team player with the ability to collaborate with other educators and staff
- Proficiency in utilizing technology for classroom instruction and administrative tasks
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of best practices
- Compliance with all state and federal regulations governing the care and education of young children
- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
