Department Description

The Global Cyber & Information Security function is a part of the Global Technology department.  The Global Technology Group function provides IT services to the Fidelity International business.  These include the development and support of business applications that underpin our revenue, operational, compliance, finance, legal, marketing and customer service functions.  The broader organisation incorporates Infrastructure services that the firm relies on to operate on a day to day basis including data centre, networks, proximity services, security, voice, incident management and remediation. 

Global Cyber & Information Security is made up of the following functions;

  • Application Security (through secure coding practices, penetration testing, and developer training)
  • Centralised Access Management – working to principles of least privilege, access appropriate to role, and Role Based Access Control
  • Infrastructure Security
  • Security Engineering and Architecture
  • Security Application Support
  • Cyber Defence Operations (CDO)
  • Information Security (and the ISO function)
  • Customer Identity & Protection

The Customer Identity & Protection function is responsible for Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) for Fidelity’s customer facing Web and Mobile applications globally, and well as, API Security, Edge Security and Customer Single Sign-on services. Purpose of your role

The position is for a Project Lead in Fidelity International. The candidate is expected to have experience of Agile Methodologies and have played a role of Scrum Master.

The successful candidate shall oversee all aspects of an engagement(s) using planning, monitoring and controlling processes as per the Fidelity guidelines and standards, and shall be responsible for completion of projects on time, on budget and meeting the requirements. To this end, PL will perform a variety of tasks including coordinating all resources and stakeholders, planning and setting milestones, assigning responsibilities and monitoring, creating high performing project teams and form excellent working relationships with senior customer representatives across multiple business and system teams.

The candidate is expected to display professional ethics in his/her approach to work and exhibit a high level ownership within a demanding working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of IT projects using latest methodologies such as Agile and DevOps with key focus areas being delivery management, stakeholder management and people management.
  • Establish and uphold Agile values and principles including collaboration with different teams, fostering a culture of understanding business value, team empowerment and self- organization, continuous improvement and flexibility to adapt to emerging business needs.
  • Effective communicator
  • Exhibits good problem-solving skills and proactive approach towards resolving impediments
  • Work with Technical team in estimating the work and challenge them back
  • Plan the delivery schedule including tasks, milestones, and dependencies keeping the full resources utilization in mind
  • Monitor the progress of a project and ensure regular publishing of status report, quality metrics and timely call out the risks/issues in Program Impediment calls
  • Track the risks and issues and proactively work on resolution and mitigation approach
  • Own the feature scrums and work closely with technical team to establish the roadmap for components
  • Manage medium size programs and bringing different teams together
  • Ensure that project activities are undertaken and completed as per the Fidelity processes and standards
  • Provide recommendations and help direct reports with talent management, objective setting, career development, job rotations, fair and timely appraisals, pipeline management, training, international opportunities, and identification of high potentials, under-performers.
  • Manage vendor staff as needed and according to the agreed contract(s).
  • Create an efficient and effective organisation structure.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 3 years of Scrum master role experience
  • 7-10 years of industry experience with exposure to complete life cycle of development & support

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the role of Scrum master.
  • Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Expert in delivering projects using Agile methodologies – ensures effective and efficient Agile ceremonies including daily stand- ups, sprint planning and sprint retrospectives keeping the overall business value at the core
  • Understands the technical aspects and the functional value and use it for efficient scrum delivery
  • Experience in supporting and enlightening the Product Owner and Business Analysts, especially with respect to refining and managing the product backlog
  • Exposed to Scrum of Scrums and work with other Scrum Masters within the other teams to achieve the program objectives
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, conflict resolution and building a high performing team
  • Track and communicate the overall progress of the release to the stakeholders (using Burn-downs, JIRA dashboards etc.) 
  • Identify and control project risks by means of prevention, mitigation and contingencies.
  • Good knowledge of industry standard project management and methodologies
  • Knowledge of project estimation techniques such as WBS, FP, etc.
  • Knowledge of project planning and tracking by using tools such as MS-Project
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to teach/mentor and learn from others
  • Knowledge of technology, third party products and their products
  • Experience of working with multi-cultural teams in a geographically diverse environment

  • Exposure to DevOps in earlier projects
  • Understanding of PaaS/Cloud
  • Understanding of Configuration Management processes
  • Operates largely independently, with minimal guidance and monitoring
  • Appreciation and knowledge of technologies used within the project
