We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary School Teacher (PRT) to join our team.

Role & responsibilities

1. Develop and implement creative and interactive lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
2. Introduce primary school students to key concepts in environmental science, including ecosystems, biodiversity, climate change, conservation, and sustainability, through hands-on activities, experiments, and outdoor learning experiences.
3. Foster a sense of curiosity and wonder about the natural world, encouraging students to explore and inquire about their environment through observation, research, and exploration.
4. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technology to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, including English language learners and students with special needs.
5. Assess student understanding and progress through formative and summative assessments, including projects, presentations, and fieldwork, and provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.
6. Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and community partners to enhance the integration of environmental education across the curriculum and support school-wide sustainability initiatives.
7. Stay current with developments in environmental science, education research, and best practices in teaching through professional development opportunities and self-directed learning.

Preferred candidate profile

1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
2. Proven experience teaching.
3. Strong knowledge of environmental science concepts, ecological principles, and sustainability issues relevant to primary education.
4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young learners.
5. Experience in designing and implementing hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences in environmental education.
6. Proficiency in integrating technology and outdoor learning opportunities into environmental studies instruction.
7. Passion for teaching and dedication to the holistic development of primary school students.
