Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary School Teacher (PRT) to join our team.
Role & responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative and interactive lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
- Introduce primary school students to key concepts in environmental science, including ecosystems, biodiversity, climate change, conservation, and sustainability, through hands-on activities, experiments, and outdoor learning experiences.
- Foster a sense of curiosity and wonder about the natural world, encouraging students to explore and inquire about their environment through observation, research, and exploration.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technology to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, including English language learners and students with special needs.
- Assess student understanding and progress through formative and summative assessments, including projects, presentations, and fieldwork, and provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and community partners to enhance the integration of environmental education across the curriculum and support school-wide sustainability initiatives.
- Stay current with developments in environmental science, education research, and best practices in teaching through professional development opportunities and self-directed learning.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience teaching.
- Strong knowledge of environmental science concepts, ecological principles, and sustainability issues relevant to primary education.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young learners.
- Experience in designing and implementing hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences in environmental education.
- Proficiency in integrating technology and outdoor learning opportunities into environmental studies instruction.
- Passion for teaching and dedication to the holistic development of primary school students.
