Job Description

Student Counseling: The primary role of an Overseas Education Counselor is to provide comprehensive counseling to students interested in pursuing education abroad. This includes understanding their educational background, interests, and goals, and providing personalized guidance on suitable courses, universities, and countries for their study abroad journey.

Admissions Assistance: Counselors assist students in the application and admissions process. This involves helping students prepare application documents, such as resumes, statements of purpose, and recommendation letters. Counsellors may also guide students through standardized test requirements, such as the SAT, GRE, or IELTS/TOEFL exams.

University Selection: Counsellors assist students in researching and selecting appropriate universities or educational institutions based on their academic profile, preferences, and career aspirations. They provide information on the reputation of institutions, available courses, scholarship opportunities, and other relevant factors to help students make informed decisions.

Visa and Documentation Support: Overseas Education Counselors guide students through the visa application process, helping them understand the requirements, supporting them in preparing the necessary documentation, and ensuring compliance with immigration regulations. They may also assist with other logistical arrangements, such as travel and accommodation arrangements.

Financial Guidance: Counselors provide information on the cost of studying abroad, including tuition fees, living expenses, and other related costs. They help students explore scholarships, grants, and financial aid options to support their study abroad plans. Counselors may also advise on financial planning and budgeting for the duration of their studies.

Pre-Departure Orientation: Counselors organize and conduct pre-departure orientations or workshops to prepare students for their transition to studying abroad. This may include information on cultural adaptation, academic expectations, health and safety, and other essential aspects of living in a foreign country.

Relationship Management: Counselors maintain regular communication with students and their families to address queries, concerns, and provide ongoing support. They build and maintain relationships with educational institutions, universities, and other stakeholders in the overseas education industry to stay updated on program offerings, admission requirements, and other relevant information.

Industry Knowledge and Research: Counselors stay updated on the latest trends, policies, and changes in the overseas education sector. They conduct research on universities, courses, and destination countries to provide accurate and up-to-date information to students.

Compliance and Ethical Standards: Counselors adhere to ethical standards and compliance regulations set by professional associations and organizations. They ensure that the counseling process is transparent, unbiased, and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Documentation and Reporting: Counselors maintain accurate records and documentation of student interactions, application progress, and other relevant information. They may also generate reports on student enrollment, success rates, and other key metrics for management review.

Requirements

1. Minimum a bachelors degree in any stream

2. Minimum 1 year of experience in counselling and sale

3. Good listener and communication skills

4. Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills

5. Computer skills including Word and Excel
