Foundation

Background:
EdIndia Foundation (EF) (www.edindia.org) is a not for profit focused on leveraging technology and

data analytics to create innovative solutions to impact education at scale. Edindia believes that

technology has a huge potential to impact government schools at scale. In the covid times, while

#Edtech has been the buzzword – the digital divide between children “with access” and “without” has

been widening.

Acknowledging the fact that frugal but effective innovations are essential so as to ensure

#LearningNeverStops and integrate technology within the government system, EdIndia was set up.

EdIndia’s mission is to “create tech-based solutions to impact the quality of education at scale”. It is

supported by Sterlite Power Group Companies. It is working with ~180,000 govt teachers across

Rajasthan, Tripura, Maharashtra and Uttarakhand.

EdIndia is reaching out to its clientele – teachers in particular and the school education system in general –

through its programmes Pragyan, Nirnay and Teachable. Pragyan is directly intervening with teachers in

government schools supporting them enrich their classroom teaching/learning practices, making available

teaching ideas and content as well as enabling forums to discuss relevant issues through various e-platforms.

Pragyan also intervenes in Pre-service teacher education with a view to prepare better teachers for tomorrow

by creating multi-mode curriculum aligned content and conducting online sessions for the student-teachers

and capacitating the faculty in teacher education institutions. Nirnay analyses the secondary data of learners’

performance already available with the system and makes it available to them in such a way as to have clear

pedagogic and administrative implications. Teachable is supposed to be a pan-India repertoire of curated

video content of quality in vernacular which teachers can access and use as per their need.

As part of its aggressive scale-up plans EdIndia is expanding its academic team and is seeking to recruit

Academic Coordinator/s who will be based at Jaipur/Mumbai and will work closely with Academic Lead of

EdIndia.

Responsibilities of Programme Coordinator:

  • Fulfil content requirement of Pragyan Pre-service teacher education programme.
  • Develop content for teachers and students for various e-platforms as per the requirement of EdIndia

programmes.

  • Design, develop and execute workshops, webinars, and trainings for Pre-service student-teachers and

teachers.

  • Coordinate the content curation and modification tasks.
  • Independently manage end-to-end project updates and partner communication across the various

levels in the organization.

The Programme Coordinator will work very closely with leadership and operational heads as well as key

stakeholders within government and partners. Reporting to the Country Lead – Academics, the

Coordinator will also work closely with different Program and Vertical Leads within the organization, State

Officials and others to ensure development of quality content, operationalization of a robust content

feedback for the project, ensuring high-quality measurement of project outputs and intermediate

outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Masters in Education
  • Successful track record in the field of academics and content development for Teachers

with a minimum of 5 years of experience in at least one of the following – Academic

Content, Pedagogy, Training.

Remuneration and Benefits: Remuneration will be competitive with Indian philanthropy

pay scales and will depend upon the candidate’s experience levels.
