Job Description: IGCSE English Teacher (Classes 9-12)
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive English lessons in accordance with the IGCSE curriculum for classes 9 to 12.
2. Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning and encourages students’ participation.
3. Develop and implement lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students.
4. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to enhance students’ reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
5. Foster a love for literature by introducing students to a wide range of literary works, analyzing texts, and promoting critical thinking.
6. Provide constructive feedback and evaluate students’ performance through regular assessments, examinations, and projects.
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students’ progress, attendance, and achievements.
8. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
9. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding students’ academic progress, behavior, and any concerns.
10. Stay updated with current trends, developments, and resources in English education, incorporating them into classroom instruction where appropriate.
11. Participate in professional development activities and engage in continuous learning to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
12. Support extracurricular activities, such as literary clubs, writing competitions, or drama productions, to encourage students’ creativity and expression.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in English literature, English language, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
2. Teaching certification or license in English education or relevant teaching credentials.
3. Proven experience teaching English at the IGCSE level or similar international curriculum, preferably with classes 9 to 12.
4. Strong knowledge of the IGCSE English curriculum and assessment requirements.
5. Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
6. Demonstrated ability to engage and inspire students, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
7. Proficient in using technology and multimedia tools to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
8. Effective classroom management skills, with the ability to maintain discipline while promoting a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
9. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
11. A passion for literature, language, and helping students develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: ₹50,000.00 – ₹58,000.00 per month
