Harrow Bengaluru is opening in 2023 to much fanfare as the first of the harrow brand to launch in India in a collaboration between Harrow school in the UK and Amity Education Group, a not for profit education foundation based in New Delhi, India. The school will build on over 400 years of educational excellence with a modern approach and first-rate facilities.
Students will broadly follow the UK curriculum to IGCSE and A levels/IB Diploma in Years 12 – 13. As in the UK, extra curricular programme will form an integral part of the school’s education. The school will also offer a full boarding programme to students and a vibrant house system will extend to say students as well and will be at the heard of the schools pastoral framework.
Location overview:
Bengaluru is a cosmopolitan, progressive, and well-developed city with a modern metro system and a lively dining and shopping scene. Known as “The Silicon Valley of India”, on account of a high concentration of IT companies and a Californian style climate of pleasant summers and mild winters. Bengaluru lies at an altitude of 945m above sea level, at the centre of Southern India’s road and rail network, making it an ideal starting point for exploration around the country.
Requirements:
Strong Bachelors degree from a respected University
Full teacher certification
Working knowledge of UK and (ideally) IB Diploma
Evidence of relevant and challenging continuing professional development
Experience of teaching learners with diverse needs – especially EAL
Experience of pastoral care and student wellbeing in a boarding context is desirable though not essential
Knowledge and experience of how to use ICT effectively in promoting student learning
Benefits and package:
Excellent monthly salary from £2,200 to £3,200 GBP per month dependent on experience in a very low cost location affording great saving potential.
Accommodation provided (2 or 3 bed home on or close to campus)
Annual flights including allowance for family
