Job Title: TGT Computer (Trained Graduate Teacher – Computer Science)

Job Summary: The TGT Computer is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in computer science or related subjects to students at the secondary level. This role involves creating lesson plans, teaching programming languages, maintaining computer labs, and assessing student performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching Computer Science: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in computer science, including topics such as programming, computer applications, and digital literacy.

2. Curriculum Development: Develop and update the computer science curriculum to align with educational standards and learning objectives.

3. Computer Lab Management: Maintain and manage the school’s computer labs, ensuring that equipment and software are in working order.

4. Programming Instruction: Teach programming languages, coding concepts, and problem-solving skills to students.

5. Assessment: Design and administer assessments, projects, and exams to evaluate student understanding and progress.

6. Student Engagement: Foster a passion for computer science among students through interactive teaching methods, coding projects, and technology demonstrations.

7. Individualized Support: Provide extra help and support to students who are struggling with computer science concepts.

8. Parent Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians to discuss student progress and address concerns.

9. Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest developments in computer science education, technology trends, and teaching methodologies.

10. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to enhance the overall educational experience and integrate technology into other subjects.

Qualifications:

1. A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering.

2. A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree or teaching certification is preferred.

3. Relevant teaching experience, preferably at the secondary level.

4. Strong knowledge of computer science concepts, programming languages, and computer applications.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

6. Classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

7. Proficiency in using computer software, tools, and educational technology for teaching.

Skills:

1. Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++).

2. Strong presentation and communication skills.

3. Adaptability and the ability to tailor teaching methods to different learning styles.

4. Patience and a passion for educating students in computer science.

5. Organizational and time management skills.
