Essential Qualification(s): M.Sc. in Chemistry (preferably with physical chemistry specialization) or Biochemistry or Biotechnology with GATE/CSIR-UGC NET (LS).
Desirable:
- Junior Research Fellowship (CSIR-UGC/DBT)
- Knowledge in computer programming (C/C++, Fotran, Python, Perl, etc.)
- Exposure to computer simulations (e.g. Molecular Dynamics, Monte Carlo methods)
Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/- pm plus HRA as admissible
Age: Maximum 28 years as on the last date of application. Age relaxation is applicable as per institute rules.
Duration of the project:This position is purely temporary for the project duration. Therefore, it would not confer any right/claim, implicit or explicit, for any candidates for extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI. Initial appointment is for one year. Total duration of the project is two years.
Job Description: Selected candidate will work on the SERB-funded project under Start-Up Research Grant (SRG) entitled: “Understanding the mechanism of thermostabilization of a commercially important red alga Kappaphyccus alvarezii via homeoviscous adaptation”. The project involves an integrated computational and experimental approach to study biomolecular structure, dynamics, and function, aiming to understand the mechanism of thermal stabilization of the algae.
