As a Pediatric Speech Therapist at Childrenplus, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, providing assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to deliver comprehensive and holistic care to children and adolescents experiencing developmental, learning, or behavioural challenges.
Responsibilities
As a RCI registered Pediatric Speech Therapists or Speech and Language Pathologist , your role is to provide specialized therapy services to children with developmental, physical, sensory, and cognitive challenges. You work with children and their families to enhance their functional abilities, promote independence, and improve their quality of life.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Evaluate and assess children’s communication skills, including speech production, language comprehension and expression, voice quality, fluency, and swallowing abilities. They use standardized tests, observations, and clinical judgment to diagnose speech and language disorders.
- Treatment Planning: Based on the assessment results, you will develop individualized treatment plans for each child. You will set specific goals and objectives to address the child’s communication challenges, taking into consideration their age, abilities, and needs.
- Therapy Sessions: Provide one-on-one therapy sessions with children to help improve their speech and language skills. You will be able to use various techniques and activities to target specific goals, such as articulation exercises, language comprehension tasks, vocabulary-building exercises, and social communication interventions.
- Parent/Caregiver Education: Play a crucial role in educating and training parents, caregivers, and family members on how to support their child’s communication development at home. Provide guidance on strategies, activities, and techniques that can be used to enhance communication skills in everyday settings.
- Collaborative Approach: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as Special Educators, occupational therapists, psychologists, and teachers, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for the child. Participate in team meetings, share progress reports, and collaborate on intervention strategies.
- Documentation and Progress Tracking: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessment findings, treatment plans, therapy sessions, and progress reports. Document the child’s progress and adjust therapy strategies as needed.
- Research and Professional Development: To stay current with the latest advancements in the field, Engage in ongoing professional development activities. Attend conferences, workshops, and training sessions to expand your knowledge and enhance your clinical skills.
- Ethical and Legal Considerations: Adhere to professional codes of ethics and comply with legal regulations in their practice. Prioritize the well-being and confidentiality of their clients and maintain a safe and inclusive therapeutic environment.
Qualifications
- Masters or Bachelors in Speech and Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India as a Speech Therapist
- Proven experience in conducting Speech Therapy assessments and delivering evidence-based therapies.
- Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development, psychopathology, and therapeutic modalities.
- Proficiency in spoken English and Hindi is a must.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
- Two years of work experience with Children
