[What the role is]

The purpose of this job is to manage curriculum development project and to ensure that the deliverables are implemented according to the Primary, Secondary and Pre-U level of Islamic Studies Curriculum Framework.[What you will be working on]

1. Oversees the development of a subject grouping within the Islamic Studies Curriculum

Plan and execute the development schedule efficiently and productively.

Lead the curriculum development team members in developing the syllabus.

Facilitate the syllabus development process by providing the necessary materials and references.

Provides regular progress updates to Curriculum Project Manager.

Conceptualize textbook features according to the overall curriculum features and approaches.

Conduct regular meetings between Muis, textbook vendors and relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance.

Ensure accurate, complete, and up-to-date internal documentation and review textbook manuscripts submitted by vendor and recommend areas of improvements, where necessary.

Ensure that all deliverables are completed as specified and according to standards and timeline.

2. Facilitate the provision of subject based training to all affected teachers.

Ensure that asatizah are trained to use the new materials; learning packages, and assessment methods accordingly, before piloting exercise is conducted.

Collect feedback on teacher training and suggest future improvements, where necessary.

3. Coordinate pilot-testing and implementation exercises, by planning and monitoring the exercises.

4. In-charge of specific areas of curriculum implementation ie: teacher professional development, assessment methods, educational technology, learning enrichment programmes etc.

Plan and recommend the implementation of these areas.

Facilitate implementation with Asatizah and Madrasah Administrators.

Monitor implementation and highlight pertinent issues that need to be addressed.

5. Provide executive support to Unit’s day-to-day tasks by responding to requests from Madrasahs or other relevant stakeholders on subject grouping related matters as well as to communicate with relevant parties on any other tasks specified by the Supervisor.

[What we are looking for]

Requirements

Candidate should possess a tertiary education in Education or Islamic Studies Experience in developing & managing Islamic education programmes using contemporary teaching methods. Experience in curriculum development as well as teacher training and development.  Knowledge/exposed to new pedagogies and assessment methods as well as student development. Experience in teaching Islamic Studies subjects is advantageous. Preferably 5 years experience in a similar or relevant position.  Fluent in Arabic, English and Malay languages. Self-motivated, resourceful and team player with good communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail, strong research and analytical skills. Good project management skills.

Successful candidate will be appointed on contract basis.
