CALL FOR PROJECT ASSOCIATE IN ARMREB PROJECT

Applications are invited for two positions of Project Associate to work on the following project

sponsored by ARMREB, DRDO under the supervision of Dr. Amit Kumar Gupta (PI), Dr.

Abhishek Sarkar (Co-PI), and Dr. G Pardha Saradhi (Co-PI), Dept. of Mechanical Engineering.

Title of the project: Shape Memory Alloys (SMA) Based Lock and Release Mechanism for

Defense Applications

Brief Description: The research work would involve the design, fabrication, and

performance characterization of shape memory alloy (SMA)

based actuators for defense and strategic applications. The project

objectives include characterizing the thermo-mechanical behavior of

SMA, the design and development of an SMA-based transportation

lock and release mechanism for flight vehicles, and its performance

evaluation for quantifying actuation accuracy and fault diagnosis.

Duration of the project: Three years

Project position and number: Project Associate – 2 positions

Fellowship amount: Rs. 31,000/- + 24 % HRA per month for the first two years

[to be revised soon to Rs. 37,000/- + 27 % HRA]

and

Rs. 35,000/- + 24 % HRA per month for the third year

[to be revised soon to Rs. 42,000/- + 27 % HRA]

Eligibility requirements: M.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. in Mechanical / Applied Mechanics /

Engineering Design / Electrical and Electronics / Materials Science or in relevant areas. An

exceptionally good candidate with B.E. / B.Tech. degree is encouraged to apply. Candidates

with publication(s) will be given priority and GATE will be an add-on advantage.
