The Research Associate will be offered a unique opportunity to be mentored by the Dean of BITS Law School – mentorship on research areas of technology law, patent law, tech innovation, law and economics. In addition to guidance on Master/Ph.D. plans, and support in research and publications to strengthen their CVs. Academic exposure to new emerging areas of interest and a platform to engage and network with visiting faculty and other academic stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Assist and support the Dean in research-related activities, including literature reviews, data collection, data analysis, managing research databases, and report writing.
- Collaborate with the Dean to plan and organize workshops, seminars, and conferences on various legal and allied areas
- Prepare workshop materials including agendas, presentations, and handouts.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for external stakeholders such as advisory council, academicians, industry leaders, experts, and other stakeholders associated with the law school.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination between the Dean and stakeholders for various special projects, ensuring timely responses to queries and requests.
- Analyse and prepare academic reports and feedback plans as per requirement.
- Contribute to the development of appropriate teaching materials as per the request from other faculty members to ensure content and methods of delivery meet learning objectives.
- Assist students with assignments, research projects, team learning activities, preparation for assessments, and offering access to learning materials.
- As and when required, liaison with other Teaching and Research Fellows on behalf of Dean for effective management of the overall academics related activities of the programmes
- Engage in professional development as appropriate, carry forward research work that is synergic with the school and regularly update subject-related knowledge base
Qualifications
- Ideal preference would be a Master’s Degree in Law with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B on the UGC seven-point scale and a consistently good academic record.
- A bachelor’s degree in Law/Humanities, with relevant work experience
- Desirable to have previous experience working in an academic or research environment is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with research tools and databases
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Knowledge of legal research methodologies and familiarity with the academic publishing process is an asset.
