Job Description
Assisting the team in implementing Section 12(1)(c) of the Right to Education (RTE) Act across India,
maximizing fill rates of seats reserved under RTE Act, and improving the effective implementation of the
Act through policy level changes. We are looking for a highly motivated individual committed to the cause
and a passionate leader to provide sustainable access to legislated rights to the underprivileged
communities through a volunteer-centric movement.

Goal: Maximise admissions through RTE among underprivileged communities across India.
Role Overview: The Lead will have overall strategic, operational and logistical responsibilities for the
programme including program vision, strategic direction, building volunteers for the cause, strategies to
identify potential beneficiaries, partnerships and end-to-end execution until children get admitted to
schools through RTE Act.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Design the overall vision, strategic direction and plan of action for the program in the short-term and long-
term
- Lead and execute recruitment, mobilising and engaging volunteers (colleges, corporates and
communities) in outreach, supporting parents and advocacy
- Lead and support setting up of partnerships with leaders, volunteers, institutions and organisations
towards maximising outreach of the act and effective support for eligible parents till admission
- Support outreach to potential channels to create mass awareness among potential beneficiaries
- Identify, invest and onboard leaders and supporters (individuals, institutions and organisations) from
various regions to strengthen the collective effort
- Design and lead strategic and operational aspects of management systems, tools, data capturing tools
used in the program
- Lead effort to bring in systemic change by working with partner organisations, government stakeholders
and key influencers
- Create exciting, powerful contents – texts, scripts, mail drafts, social media captions, etc. and assist the
team in program goals
Requirements
Preferred Education Qualification / Experience:
- Minimum of one-year experience in project management and working in a team is preferable
- Prior experience in the non-profit sector/working with government officials would be an advantage
- Prior volunteering and/or experience in field work is mandatory
- Any Graduate (Social work preferred)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Go-getter, ability to strategize and implement outcome-oriented programme with relevant resource teams
- Strong mobiliser who can invest and onboard supporters and partners across institutions and
organisations
- Strong documentation and analytical skill to create strategies and analyse data
- Willingness to travel frequently – across districts in Tamilnadu
- Good influencing skills, people engagement, networking and listening skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Tamil
