Job Type: Full-time
The Programme Associate will be placed in the low-income schools / After school learning centres in Chennai to ensure under-performing students are coached and exam ready. The Programme Associate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining good rapport with the teachers, community, and school management to ensure effective implementation of the Bhumi’s Remedial Schools / After school learning centres Programme in the assigned schools.
The community programme consists of after-school and school education and activity sessions at our learning centers, government and private schools for children in urban slums. Every community learning center and school provides a safe and healthy environment to support children with basic skills in literacy and mathematics. These programmes trigger their social consciousness and help them discover their talents.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Manage all tutors working with the schools / After school learning centres – recruit, onboard and ensure the daily classes in the schools / Centers.
- Provide training and support to the tutors to make classes effective and learning enjoyable for the children
- Conduct regular meetings with the Tutors and support them as required.
- Regularly visit all the schools / Centers and monitor on the classes.
- Lead and help in the execution of the programme in the assigned schools/centres.
- Ensure every school / Center adheres to the programme deliverables in a timely manner.
- Engage the children, tutors, parents, teachers and school management in planning for the children’s growth.
- Provide periodic reports to the management on the progress and outcomes.
- Ensure smooth functioning and implementation of programme activities at the schools and centers including assessments, workshops, events reporting etc.
Educational Qualification/Experience:
- Educational Degree : Post Graduation / MSW Graduation / B.Ed., preferred
- Relevant Experience(in years) : Preferably 1-2 experience in working with the schools / NGO / Fieldwork with atleast two years in managing a team
Knowledge & Skill sets required:
- Good understanding of the pedagogical aspects involved in teaching children.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and supervision Skills
- Good English speaking & writing skills
- Good orientation of MS Office
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Emotional maturity to build relationships, empathize with the perspectives/needs of team members and develop others.

- Salary: 2.76 LPA to 3.36 LPA – Based on the candidates profile.
