Assistant Professor – Woodworking Skills
Job Title:
Assistant Professor – School of Woodworking Skills
Reports to:
The Assistant Professor will be directly reporting to the Principal/ Project Manager of the
School of Woodworking Skills.
Job Overview:
As a young and emerging skill university, the Assistant Professor shall be responsible for the
theoretical education in the school of Woodworking Skills. He teaches B.Voc. and M.Voc
students. He works as an instructor in a team. He also monitors on the learning objectives and
the quality of training. As an instructor and has to motivate the students /Trainer.
In his/her major role, we expect a great commitment, joy in learning and teaching, a natural
authority and a confident appearance. To keep the education up to date, he/she should show
interest in woodwork technology and research, according to the demands of the economy.
Wood is the building material and Climate crisis, energy shortage and resource scarcity are
facts. Our future professionals will be in demand by industry. As an Assistant Professor of
Woodworking Skills, he/she shall work on solutions and the implementation of these
challenges.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The Assistant Professor of the woodworking skills shall be responsible for the teaching of
technical subjects who experts in the teaching of mathematics, materials science,
business organization and Management as well as other technical subjects also.
He/ She should fulfil the University´s responsibilities concerning students in respect of
their admission, instruction, progress, and examinations.
Be responsible for the preparation of semester plan in the concentration with the
Principal. He/ She should exert efforts on curriculum development, teaching methods,
train the trainers, applied modern methodology & didactics and also conduct and
organize workshop specially related to woodworking or its related field.
Bringing in new ideas and pursuing a future-oriented education. Apart from imparting
knowledge, skills of the students are to be promoted.
He/she should aim to prepare B.Voc. students to work in all businesses and industries.
The B.Voc. Program shall be kept current and developed.
Design and structure of the M.Voc. Course in Woodworking Skills. The training program
is designed to provide a foundation for future leaders for business and education. The
training builds on the B.Voc. Program with more advanced technical skills. Specific
training for M.Voc. candidates. Integrate research in woodworking for M.Voc. students.

As a professional, ensure that the conditions for skill teaching are in place. Be able to
objectively assess what investments are needed to achieve this and be able to present
these considerations to the Principal.
Ensure that all activities are conducted with the highest possible standards and
establishing the necessary evaluation and monitoring procedures to ensure compliance
and improvement.
He/ She is required to build up and maintain a network with other organizations/
Industries for student’s internship and Placements.
Requirements/Qualifications:
A Ph.D./ Master’s in Mechanical Engineering (Material Science and Design), and Expertise
areas of Production Management, Wood/ Carpentry based design Architecture or
equivalent in a related field/school with excellent academic record.
Experience or interest in product design, building physics, wood construction, art and
cultural history.
Prior Work experience in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and/or teaching
experience is preferred.
He/she should be able to implement the school’s health and safety policy.
He/she is able to motivate students and creates interesting lessons.
He/ She should have the ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate training plans,
curricula, and methodology.
Hands-on experience with MS Office and education management systems.
