empowerment, one village at a time, one woman at a time. We demystify and decentralize
technology and put new tools in the hands of the underserved, to spread self-sufficiency and
sustainability. With a geographic focus on the Least Developed Countries, we train women
worldwide as solar engineers, entrepreneurs and educators, who then return to their villages to
bring light and learning to their community.

BCI CONTENT DEPARTMENT

BCI content department works with a vision to develop grassroots contextualized
immersive content making right knowledge accessible to all rural audiences in both
traditional and high technology channels, empowering learners particularly women and
children to make positive sustainable choices, exercise their agency and promote a learning
sharing spirit.
Over the years of working in training and content, there has been an in-depth
understanding of nuances in content creation and delivery that create a world of a
difference while being delivered to rural audiences.
Barefoot College International delivers a wide range of training and Content programs under
the Education department targeting rural informal teachers, Enriche and Solar departments
targeting rural literate/sem-literate women, Livelihoods department targeting rural women
through enterprise model.
We create Audio visual content, print collateral (posters, leaflets, dairies, flyers, standees
etc) IEC materials, curriculum. We also use flash cards, flip books and other related material.
Lately, we are also working big time in the field of digital Audio visual content focussing on
animations.

JOB PROFILE

The incumbent should have excellent editing skills and should be aware of the latest editing
styles. The candidate should be able to present the content in a trendy manner, especially

for the digital platforms. The candidate should be able to do graphic designing and basic
animation required for the videos to be created. The ideal candidate should also have good
organizational and interpersonal skills and will be expected to work closely with a team of
project managers from varied backgrounds, experience, skills and knowledge levels.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Highly creative editor is required
  • Trim footage segments and combine the sequences of the film
  • Prepare rough and final cuts for the videos
  • Input effects, graphics, dialogues, and music into the videos to make them more visually

appealing

  • Insert music and necessary sound effects to the video clips
  • Can do basic animation
  • Discover and implement new techniques and methods to maximize the organization’s

efficiency

  • Manage to work both on-site as well as off-site locations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from production to post-production process
  • Monitor all technical aspects of recording and editing
  • Work effectively with the team members

SKILLS

  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects
  • Should be able to edit videos
  • Should know the trends of Digital, TV, Radio
  • Must know the graphics ( text and any other motion)
  • Should be able to do basic animation
  • Ability to take inputs from the team members is necessary
  • Ability to respond to feedback in a positive manner is required
  • Timely delivery of the output is necessary
  • Should be able to adapt to create content for the rural communities
  • Willingness to travel is necessary
  • Writing and Direction skills are desirable

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Relevant Editing course is required.. Any other relevant course in the media
sector/communications/social sector may be desirable but not necessary. Fresher to 2 to
3 years of experience in editing or in a company or NGO is also desirable.

COMPENSATION

Barefoot College International recognises that the right candidate will have a significant
impact on the success of the organization and is prepared to offer an attractive
compensation package for the non-profit sector, commensurate with experience. The remuneration for the position is 40 – 45 k/ month (Negotiable).

LOCATION

This job is based in Delhi but entails occasional travel throughout the Country to our project locations.
