About The Role

The role is to ensure the provision of a high-quality innovative educational program that meets the individual needs of children aged from birth to 6 years and ensure that all interactions with the children are positive, respectful and friendly. This role will also ensure the care and education program aligns with the Early Childhood Services Philosophy. You are required to ensure a child-safe environment and contribute to a culture of child safety by fulfilling the responsibilities and requirements of Council’s Child Safe Policy and procedures.

Skills, Experience And Certificates

  • Early Childhood Qualification as recognised under Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 – Diploma.
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Education and Care Services National Law Act (2010), Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011) and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
  • Knowledge of child development theories and an ability to demonstrate within the program
  • Knowledge and understanding of Mandatory Reporting requirements
  • Ability to maintain written records and write reports relating to program goals and child development.
  • Awareness of the cultural needs of families.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to maintain written records and write reports relating to program goals and child development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and a positive approach to shared decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to work adhering to Banyule City Council’s Values.
  • Current, recognised First Aid and Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificates are essential
