Class Teacher at Bangalore Steiner School Full Time

We are looking for a teacher who would be willing to take a group of students from Grade 1 through the primary years up to Grade 8. Waldorf education aims to prepare children for the future; a task which asks of the educator to be earnest about life and relationships.

We consider the relationship between the class teacher and the child as a special one that becomes central to learning between 7 to 14 years. The teacher must be able to understand child development and work through the curriculum to meet the needs of
children. The teacher should be proficient in English. The task entails teaching mathematics and the sciences as they step into middle school. Hence the basic capacity to engage with these subjects and teach is required. Adequate training opportunities will be given to suitable individuals.

There is a great emphasis on the arts and an artistic approach to education. This makes education deeply meaningful both for the teachers and the children. A willingness to engage with artistic activities like painting, drawing, singing, storytelling, movement and drama is essential. While no one comes with all these abilities, there needs to be openness to learn and grow in this realm too.
