JOB DESCRIPTION
The Mathematics Faculty in the Junior College section is responsible for delivering effective instruction, supporting student learning outcomes, and contributing to academic and administrative functions of the institution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Teaching–Learning Process
•Prepare structured and outcome-based lesson plans in accordance with the prescribed syllabus.
•Deliver engaging and concept-oriented lectures using appropriate pedagogical methods.
•Encourage interactive classroom discussions and relate mathematical concepts to real-life situations and applications to enhance conceptual understanding.
•Use teaching aids and ICT-based tools wherever applicable.
2.Student Assessment and Evaluation
•Carry out continuous evaluation of students through tests, assignments, projects, and oral assessments.
•Analyze students’ performance and apply corrective measures based on assessment outcomes.
•Identify learning gaps and modify teaching strategies to improve academic performance.
3.Remedial and Academic Support
•Conduct remedial lectures and additional academic support sessions for slow learners and students requiring special attention.
•Provide guidance and mentoring to students for academic improvement and subject comprehension.
4.Examination-Related Responsibilities
•Set question papers in accordance with curriculum guidelines and examination standards.
•Assess and evaluate answer papers impartially and within stipulated timelines.
•Analyze examination results and propose strategies or interventions to improve future outcomes.
•Perform duties related to examinations, including supervision and invigilation.
5.Academic Records and Documentation
•Maintain accurate and up-to-date attendance records on a regular basis.
•Keep records of student performance, assessments, and academic progress as required by the institution.
6.Administrative and Departmental Duties
•Handle various departmental and administrative responsibilities as assigned, including academic planning, coordination, and reporting.
•Assist in the smooth functioning of the department and institutional activities.
7.Institutional Participation
•Actively participate as a member of various academic, cultural, and professional committees or associations within the institution.
•Contribute to seminars, workshops, parent-teacher meetings, and institutional development initiatives.
8.Professional Responsibilities
•Uphold professional ethics, discipline, and institutional values.
•Engage in continuous professional development and subject upgradation activities.
9.Additional Responsibilities
•Perform any other academic or administrative duties assigned by the Principal, Vice Principal, or competent authority from time to time.
