Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Professor of Computer Science based at the Amity University campus in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The Assistant Professor will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in core computer science and emerging areas, design and update course curriculum, and develop innovative teaching materials and assessments. Responsibilities include guiding student projects, mentoring learners, and maintaining high academic and ethical standards in the classroom and laboratory. The role involves conducting research, publishing in reputable journals or conferences, and seeking collaborations and funding opportunities. The Assistant Professor will also contribute to departmental activities, accreditation processes, academic events, and outreach initiatives that strengthen industry and academic partnerships. Qualifications
Strong foundational and advanced knowledge in Computer Science, with the ability to teach core theory and applied subjects.
Expertise in Programming (such as C/C++, Java, Python, or similar languages) and ability to supervise coding-intensive projects and labs.
Specialization or demonstrated competence in Data Science (e.g., data analytics, machine learning, AI) and related computational methods.
Knowledge of Cybersecurity concepts, practices, and tools, with the ability to integrate security topics into teaching and research.
Experience or interest in Curriculum Development, including designing syllabi, learning outcomes, and assessments aligned with industry and accreditation standards.
Postgraduate degree (M.E./M.Tech./M.S.) in Computer Science or a closely related field from a recognized institution; Ph.D. in Computer Science (awarded or near completion) is strongly preferred.
Evidence of scholarly activity, such as research publications, conference presentations, or ongoing research projects.
Effective classroom management, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage a diverse student body using modern teaching methodologies and educational technologies.
