Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor in Biotechnology/ Microbiology/Biochemistry/Food Technology with specialization in Industrial Biotechnology/ Bioprocess Engineering / Fermentation Technology to join the Department of Biotechnology. The ideal candidate should have a strong academic background, teaching experience, and expertise in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biological Sciences and related fields. The role involves teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as contributing to the department’s academic activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Curriculum Development:

• Conduct undergraduate and postgraduate courses in biotechnology and related disciplines.
• Develop and update course materials to meet industry and academic standards.
• Supervise student projects, internships, and dissertations.

Research & Publications:

• Lead independent and collaborative research projects.
• Publish high-impact research papers in reputed journals.
• Seek research funding through grants and industry collaborations.

Academic Mentorship & Supervision:

• Guide Ph.D. and Master’s students in their research work.
• Provide academic and career counselling to students.

Administrative & Departmental Contributions:

• Participate in curriculum development and academic planning.
• Assist in organizing seminars, workshops, and conferences.
• Contribute to the development of departmental research and outreach activities.

Industry & Community Engagement:

• Establish partnerships with biotechnology industries and research organizations.
• Promote knowledge exchange and consultancy projects.
• Contribute in the departmental placement activities.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

• Possessing M. Sc with NET in Biotechnology/ Microbiology/Biochemistry/Food Technology with specialization in Industrial Biotechnology. Bioprocess Engineering / Fermentation Technology and related field from a recognized institution or
• Ph.D. in the same subjects with specialization in Industrial Biotechnology. Bioprocess Engineering / Fermentation Technology and related field from a recognized institution.

Desirables:

• 2-5 years of teaching/postdoc experience in a reputed university or research institute.
• A strong record of research publications in SCI/Scopus-indexed journals.
