Job aim:
To develop and edit manuscripts, and check and correct all errors of a book at all stages till production; thus, producing error-free, high quality and best-in-class school books for English up to class 10.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Create and edit content—both print and digital—for English books from pre-primary to class 10.
· Check and ensure that the content matches with the age group and the class level.
· Develop content (as and when required) to fill in gaps in the text.
· Provide creative input for layout, design and formatting of a book/chapter etc.
· Manage multiple projects at varying stages in the production process.
· Liaison with typesetters, artists, freelancers and vendors.
· Create quality products maintaining consistency and accuracy of text.
· Enhance content through value addition.
· Incorporate feedback from colleagues, peers and reviewers.
· Research and analyse new products.
· Keep abreast of product, platform and technology developments.
· Maintain productive relationship with authors and vendors.
· Accept accountability for final delivery of products in terms of schedule, delivery and quality specifications.
Essential requirements:
· The candidate must have a Post-graduate degree from a recognised university, with a minimum of 4–5 years of experience in education/publishing industry.
· S/he should be an expert in the relevant subject.
· S/he should be aware of the education pattern and all editorial markings.
· S/he should be aware of the competition in the market.
· The candidate should be well conversant with grammar and syntax.
· S/he should have excellent writing, communication and presentation skills.
· S/he should be aware of new trends in the publishing industry with an eye for detail.
· Excellent computer knowledge is a must.
· Teaching experience is desirable.
