As an Academic Counselor at AEC (Asian Educational Consultancy), you will play a pivotal role in guiding and assisting students in their pursuit of international education opportunities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive academic counseling to students aspiring to study abroad. You will work closely with students and their families to understand their educational goals, career aspirations, and personal interests, and then offer tailored advice and guidance to help them make informed decisions about their academic future.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Guidance:

• Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students to assess their academic backgrounds, career objectives, and study abroad preferences.
• Provide detailed information about educational programs, universities, colleges, and courses available in foreign countries.
• Offer insights into admission requirements, application processes, and deadlines for various international institutions.

Academic Planning:

• Assist students in creating personalized academic plans and selecting suitable courses based on their career goals.
• Offer guidance on standardized tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, GMAT, etc., and provide resources for test preparation.
• Help students prepare and review application materials, including essays, resumes, and letters of recommendation.

Visa and Financial Aid Support:

• Inform students about visa procedures, documentation requirements, and assist in the visa application process.
• Provide information on scholarships, grants, and financial aid opportunities, and assist in scholarship applications.

Cultural and Pre-Departure Guidance:

• Offer advice on adapting to a new culture, living arrangements, and preparing for life abroad.
• Organize pre-departure orientations to equip students with essential information before they travel.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and documentation for student applications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Empathy and patience when working with students and their families.
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and stay updated on education trends and policies.
