Teachmint is also ranked on the 2023 LinkedIn Top Companies List in India.About the Role :Teachmint is looking for a motivated and driven engineering manager to mentor engineers in a pod or two(owning a product area), mentoring them and building cool stuff!Role & Responsibilities :- Ensuring the pod is self-organizing to fulfill the pod’s responsibilities as a strong collaborative team.- Effectively keeps the team on track, and identifies when certain responsibilities haven’t been taken or when certain processes can improve and brings them back to the team for brainstorming.- Conduct code reviews, lead HLD discussions, help the team maintain the code quality and best practices.- Manage product team communications, releases and development cycles for the pod.- Contributes as a senior engineer to the sprint (non-blocking work if the mentoring duties are heavier in some sprints)- People/HR duties related to your pod- Leading the Hiring/On-boarding process for new engineers for the pod- Responsible for performance reports, skill development plan with each engineer and guiding them in moving up to the next career level- Work with other EM’s and the product team to develop performance frameworks, continuous development frameworks, and any other engineering operational infrastructure- Identifies and solves operational issues of the engineering teamPreferred Experience :- Educational background, preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering for technical project managers- 2+ years of engineering management experience leading high performing teams- 8+ years of overall professional software dev experience- Experienced in ReactJS, Android, Python, Flask, MongoDB and mentoring and growing teams of software developers.- Communicate effectively and can crisply explain complex technical conceptsGood to have :- Experienced in industry standard coding practices- Need to have agile experience.Must-have mindsets :- Strong algorithmic thinking- Seamless Collaboration with Mobile and Web Development team- Solid foundation in Computer Science, with strong competencies in data structuresWhy Us ?Join us as we build a homegrown school operating system that has :- Over 1.5+ crore users across 25+ countries in three years- Built an integrated school platform with 100+ features and more to come- Enabled teachers and students to learn to their heart’s content in 20+ languages- NEP 2020 and NDEAR compliant(ref:hirist.com)
